Founded in 2009, Animal Rescue Foundation has a simple mission to promote the welfare of dogs and cats in Seguin and Guadalupe County.
ARF's mission is to promote the welfare, rescue and adoption of dogs and cats in Guadalupe County and Seguin, Texas. To follow our mission we do many things in our area. We work to educate the community. This year we have done several presentations at schools about responsible pet ownership. We are teaching the young to help prevent the abuse of animals now and in the future! We assist our community with donating approximately 5000 lbs. of pet food to the Christian Cupboard each year to help low-income families keep their beloved pets. This year we gave over 500 rabies shots and over 100 microchips at our low-income rabies clinic. We also have our Spay and Neuter program and Pet Vet program. These programs assist low-income owners with spay/neuter and vet care of owned animals in our community. In 2015, we funded just under $7,000 to help with spay/neuter in Seguin and Guadalupe County. In the same year we funded just under $10,000 to assist low-income owners with vet care.
Another way we help in our community is by rescuing dogs and cats from our local shelters. Since 2012, Animal Rescue Foundation has rescued and adopted over 550 animals. All animals that are brought into our care are given a medical examination, fecal test and worming if necessary, heartworm test, feline aids/leukemia test, rabies shot, Dhpp shot, microchipping, and spay/neuter. We make sure that all of our animals are healthy before they are put into a forever home.
